MINUTES of a Special Session of the Council of the
Town of Port Hope, held in the Council Chamber,
Monday, the 24th day of February, 1902.
Present: His Worship Mayor Giddy; Councillors
Wickett, Fowler, Chalk, Randall and Snell.
The Mayor stated the object of the meeting was to
receive tenders for the harbour works and the
reconstruction of the east pier.
Moved by Cllr. Wickett, seconded by Cllr. Chalk:
THAT the tender of Messrs. Rooney & Sons of Cobourg
in the sum of $14,860 for the construction of the
east pier and harbour wall be and is hereby accepted,
the works to commence not later than the first day
of May, 1902, and to be completed before the close
of navigation. — Carried.
Moved by Cllr. Fowler, seconded by Cllr. Randall:
THAT the Clerk be instructed to notify the Harbour
Commission and the Midland Railway Company of the
foregoing. — Carried.
The Council then adjourned.
